Who We Are
The TRiO McNair Scholars Program at 起点传媒 prepares eligible students for graduate school through research and other scholarly activity involvement. The program is funded to support students who are the first in their families to graduate from college, limited income households, and/or part of an underrepresented demographic group in higher education settings.
We are preparing the next generation of innovators, dreamers, and problem solvers to navigate the waters of doctoral studies through a holistic approach to student success

The McNair Scholars Program supports students at every stage of their journey. The Spring semester serves as an exciting intake period for welcoming new scholars and scholar candidates eager to embark on their research and graduate school preparation journey while supporting existing scholars who are forging their path to greatness. McNair Sophomores build research skills, connect with faculty, and explore graduate pathways. Juniors focus on executing research, GRE prep, and graduate school visits. Seniors finalize graduate decisions and share their research. Discover, research, and achieve with McNair!听

The summer term immerses scholars in hands-on research experiences and skill-building opportunities. Rising Sophomores participate in the Candidate Summer Institute, gaining exposure to research technologies, lab protocols, and faculty mentorship. Rising Juniors delve deeper through the Summer Research Institute, engaging in advanced methods courses, faculty-guided research, and professional development workshops. Rising Seniors refine their focus with Research Experiences for Undergraduates, explore summer research opportunities, and participate in graduate school tours. The summer is also an exciting intake period, welcoming new scholars ready to advance their academic and research aspirations.听

The Fall semester focuses on academic growth, professional development, and graduate preparation. Sophomores build foundational research skills through Research Methods 101, Ethics in Research, and IRB training, while exploring pathways through graduate school events, faculty connections, and career exposure. Juniors refine their graduate school readiness with tailored development plans, CV and personal statement workshops, and applications for REUs and SROs. Seniors focus on completing graduate school and fellowship applications, disseminating their research, and leaving a legacy for the next generation of scholars.
